When Margaret and Jenkins sent me an inquiry for their wedding, I was ecstatic about the details and the location of where each moment would take place. I quickly came to find out through their engagement session what a sweet couple they were. Jenkins was always attentive to Margaret and Margaret had a sweet and calm nature about her. I knew that their wedding was going to be absolutely stunning as she would share her vision and dream for her wedding day.
My day started around 2:00 PM at the Adolphus Hotel. I always arrive early at weddings to scout the venue, see what the lighting is like, and allow myself plenty of time to prepare for a wedding. After having my car valeted I headed inside the hotel to grab some coffee and delicious pastries at Otto’s Coffee. The Adolphus Hotel is located at the heart of Downtown Dallas and it had always been a dream of mine to step inside this stunning hotel.
After scouting and finishing up my coffee I headed upstairs where I met with the girls and started on detail shots. Once we had finished the first look and portraits we quickly hopped in and headed to the ceremony. Perkins Chapel at SMU is a beautiful chapel with tall ceilings and a long aisle. Jenkins’ smile was from ear to ear when he saw his bride once more but this time walking down the aisle.
Following the ceremony, we headed to The Room on Main just a few minutes away to celebrate the night away. One of my favorite moments in their wedding was that the DJ played music on vinyl records instead. It truly made their wedding experience unique and the dance floor was on fire the entire night. To end the night, Margaret and Jenkins preferred to have lavender seeds thrown during the send-off. The night ended with the scent of lavender and it couldn’t have ended more perfectly!
